The England international was back in action for his club on Sunday as they suffered a heavy defeat by the Gunners at Wembley.
Grealish’s position at the Etihad Stadium remains uncertain after making his comeback more than 12 months after his previous appearance in a City shirt.
During the previous campaign, the attacking player spent time on loan at the Toffees following Guardiola’s decision that he was not required at the Etihad. His spell on Merseyside was ended early by a hamstring problem, although he managed to win over the Goodison Park supporters.
The 28-year-old flew back to Manchester for Guardiola’s final game in charge but was not included in the travelling party for the pre-season fixtures as he continued his rehabilitation programme.
Once the squad arrived back from their overseas trip, Grealish rejoined full training and took part in the Thursday session held at the Joie Stadium.
He was subsequently selected among the substitutes for the meeting with Arsenal and entered the fray at the interval during the three-goal loss.
Our City supporters were polled on whether the club should part ways with Grealish following his surprise reappearance against the north London side.
The poll revealed a near-even split, with just under half of respondents believing he should be sold, a similar proportion opposed to any departure, and a small minority undecided.
In the aftermath of the match, Maresca fielding questions regarding Grealish’s prospects at the club. The Italian indicated that those remaining at the club who demonstrate daily commitment would earn opportunities if they proved worthy, while acknowledging the transfer window remains active and situations could evolve.
